  • Wed Prayer Together – Jan 26, 2022

You know that experience of trying and trying to open a jar or bottle and the lid just won’t seem to budge. Then you hand it to someone else and it seems that the lid is removed almost effortlessly. I am thinking that this common situation is an important reminder to each of us to look to our God for strength. Instead of struggling and feeling our frustration escalate, you and I can choose to hand whatever is too much for us, over to our God.  We then witness the demonstration of His supernatural strength and our faith is deepened. We read in Psalm 84:5 “Blessed are those whose strength is in You…” Again and again during these months of the pandemic, I have been grateful for the assurance that our strength is in God. None of us has to try to deal with what we face in our own strength. God is available to help us. When we choose to hand things over to God, we can know that we really are blessed because our strength is in Him. Prayer is a gift that God has given us that becomes the way we can hand things over to God and trust His strength to be sufficient. Instead of attempting to do things by ourselves, life can teach us the wisdom and blessing of finding our strength in our Lord. Please plan to join in our weekly WEDNESDAY PRAYER TOGETHER tomorrow January 26th at 1 pm.

Thanking God that we are blessed because our strength is in Him, Pastor Lola

Our God we do come to You now as the One we have learned to depend on. We have known You as our source of strength in our weakest moments. When we have wondered how we would get through something so beyond us, You have provided Your strength and we have been blessed. This has been such a consistent pattern in our lives to find our strength in You. We ask that You will keep on reminding us to hand everything over to You. Please remind us to do this and to experience daily the blessing of Your strength. Right at this moment, we consider the personal struggles with which each of us is dealing. Every detail of these struggles is known to You. Thank You that we do not have to explain anything to You. We can just come and place whatever is troubling us in Your strong and able hands. Something that is affecting everyone at this time is the rapid transmission of the Omicron variant. We want to receive Your strength and courage for this situation. Our prayers continue for health care workers trying to cope when often short staffed. We trust Your strength for them. We lift up in prayer those who are gripped by fear and uncertainty. We trust Your strength for these as well. Where people’s faith in You is wavering, we pray that You will restore and renew awareness of being able to find strength in You. We think of those who are tempted to give up and pray that Your strength will replace feelings of hopelessness. Our God we want to anticipate discovering new aspects of Your strength. When we have been blessed by Your strength actively transforming what we have given over to you, we look for grace to trust You more. In our anticipation of all the unknowns yet to occur in our lives, we confidently expect that Your strength will be enough for every unknown on the path before us. Our own strength is extremely limited but Your strength our LORD is unlimited. This time of prayer is a welcome opportunity to come and to give over to You what is too much for us. Thank You that You willingly receive what we hand to You and we step back to see what Your strength will accomplish with what we have given into Your hands. We are blessed because our strength is in You and we pray that this same blessing will extend to others who will encounter You and Your strength available for them. We commit who we are and all that we need into Your loving hands in the Name of Jesus our strong and mighty Saviour. AMEN.
